"I like Ace Media Player allot, it does what I want a
media player to do, it does not have all the gadgets"
I was a little skeptic when downloaded this program, it promised
me that it would play any media type also the infamous DivX
format, but we give all software a chance here at 1dot.net.
Ace Media Player is a shell program, this means that you have
to install the engine for the media type in order to use this
software, for example you have to install the DivX Codec in
order for Ace Media Player to play a DivX movie, I have to admit
this is a pretty clever idea so I installed all the engines
I could possibly get my hands on and then I started testing.
I like Ace Media Player allot, it does what I want a media
player to do, it does not have all the gadgets such as build
in coffee maker and blender but it plays my files in a fashionable
way and it still have the rather important play list function
build in, so whether you are into music or movies you can gain
allot by downloading this software today.
You can use Ace Media Player 30 days before you have to buy
a registration key, I already got myself a key because I truly
believe in this programs potential, a key cost about 20 bucks
but then you also get rid of nag screens and you get full functionality.
If you ask me to give it a character on the 10 scale I would
probably go with 8, only thing Gustosoft could do better was
if they included the media engines in the program, but then
it would just be another player I guess.

"nice product!"
i like this software cause it could play Windows media, Real
media even QuickTime files in one player, it seems Ace Media
Player also could play Divx media types if you already have
Divx codec installed.

"behaves itself. Unlike MSMediaPlayer and TWINS, it
doesn't contact the Internet each time you play."
In BIG, BOLD LETTERS: ACE MEDIA PLAYER doesn't try to use the
Internet to upload the IDs of the stuff you're viewing, and
your Internet ID. MANY other media players DO-- watch the TX/RX
lights on your modem/LAN/Cable-modem (when it's on and connected
the Net), when you load/play. This is my main reason for endorsing
ACE MEDIA PLAYER, and for dumping Windows Media Player and TWINS
Video Player. Grrrr ! (Yay, GustoSoft. Keep this feature alive.)
Ace Media Player is a fairly simple media player. It supports
the very latest *.AVI video formats (which the most-recent Quicktime
did NOT). Another review says that the screen can't be resized,
but this is only because that reviewer didn't know where to
hunt for the screen-resizing option. You get it by clicking
(right or left mouse-button-- I forget which) on the movie window
while a movie is playing. This is my only area of criticism
for Ace Media Player: Its menus are a little cryptic. Many of
the drop-down menus are frankly unrecognizable as such, until
your mouse happens to pause over stuff that looks like glitz
or stripes. Then a little box appears that explains that these
turn into MENUS, if you click on 'em. D'oh ! Future upgrades,
I hope, will make the menus easier to find, and allow more options
for movie-window sizes.
I decided to go hunting for a new multimedia player when I
read an article at TheRegister.co.uk that explained that MediaPlayer
trades data packets with MicroSoft over any open internet connection,
each time you load a playable file (CD, movie, internet streaming
video, etc etc.). The End-User-Licensing-Agreement, particularly
the "Digital Rights Management" paragraph, openly
surrendered my control & rights over my own PC and software--
ALL of it-- and gave MicroSoft the right to snoop freely on
my PC, disable whichever programs/files it wanted to, and download
alterations to MediaPlayer at their discretion, without further
case-by-case confirmations from me. How LOUDLY can I say "NO
!" ? *grin* I thought this only applied to the MOST RECENT
versions of MSMediaPlayer, but found that even my old 4.x version
was transferring data over the internet each time I loaded/played
a file. QuickTime and RealMedia were spam-engines BIGtime, and
put themselves all over my desktop and start-menu. TWINS VIDEO
PLAYER, like...

"It really do what a movie player should do."
Ace Media Player focus on playing all of your local media clips,
not matter what type the clip is. in fact, it could play almost
all video and audio files you could collected. It simply but
it have enough and powerful features let you watch movies comfortable.

Note: We changed the product name from Gusto MiniCinema
to Ace Media Player, so above reviews have a little different(product
name) with origion content.
